The pride of Maccabi VAC, the best gymnast of all time, will soon receive an award in the Athletics and Physical Education category in Israel. The Israeli education minister announced on Tuesday that ten-time Olympic champion, 96-year-old gymnast Ágnes Keleti, will soon receive state recognition.
“She is a special, strong and stunning woman. Agnes Keleti is a pioneer, leader and at the same time an example for all students in Israel and anywhere in the world. She is one of the most outstanding athletes and talents in the world. She virtually started the sport ofgymnastics in Israel, and for more than 50 years she was the leading figure in the department. She has trained several generations of gymnasts and champions over the years,” expressed the awards committee.
