The 13th Hungarian Amateur Thai Boxing Championship, originally called the Maccabi Cup, was held on November 20, 2010 for the first time, organized by the new presidency. As of now, this was the most successful tournament as a record number of clubs and competitors accepted our invitations and attended with match. There were more than fifty matches, and despite the amateur rule system, we’ve now been able to see, for the first time in a long time, nearly professionally prepared athletes in a tough fight. This year we opened the registration of clubs participating in martial arts, which made the matches much more colorful.
At the event, we provided information about the goals and plans of Maccabi VAC.
Our main initiative and goal is to continue to grow the reputation of Thai Box in the country and abroad along this path. We also plan to set up a team that can achieve international success in Europe and around the world.
Our next plans include a Maccabi VAC and an international martial arts gala under the auspices of the Hungarian Thai Boxing Association, which will give Maccabi members from all over the world the opportunity to compete and fight.
The cornerstone of this would be a match between the Hungarian and Israeli Muay Thai national teams, which would be held in a number of prestige matches with domestic and foreign Maccabi participants. We would also include other divisions of matrial arts to compete and fight in 2011.
