We support our talented and committed athletes. They fight hard to achieve their personal goals as champions, and representing the values of our Jewish community. Their dedication speaks for itself.

Maccabiah:

Pan-American Maccabi Games, Mexico, 2019

The Maccabi Pan American Games were held prior to the 2019 Maccabi Europe Games, where the Hungarian team of Maccabi VAC participated as a European country as well as Maccabi GB.

 

It is important to note that this is the first time that a Hungarian delegation participated in the Maccabi PAN AM Games. The delegation consisted of the Maccabi VAC water polo team, two triathlon riders and a golf player.

 

The Hungarian water polo team won a gold medal. Triathlon competitor Péter Hajdú won two silver and one bronze medal at the event. The Hungarian team of Maccabi VAC finished 13th in the ranking of the event of the top European countries!

20. Maccabiah, 2017:

Maccabi VAC Hungary has never participated in such a big delegation in the Maccabiah as the 2017 Maccabi Games. 120 people including 100 athletes joined the team to experience the spirit of the 20th Maccabiah, where 10 000 athletes from 80 countries competed in 40 different sports. Ádám Jusztin, the president of Maccabi VAC Hungary made an important statement: The Hungarian Team already won more medals on the first week of the Games than at the entire Maccabiah in 2013.

European Maccabi Games:

 

Budapest, 2019

The 15th Maccabi European Games took place from July 29 to August 7, 2019. In these 10 days, the largest multisport event of all time was celebrated in Budapest, with nearly 3,000 people  arriving from 42 countries. The Hungarian delegation had the largest team Maccabi history with 250 people.

Athletes from the delegation, organized by Maccabi VAC, collected a total of 49 gold, 28 silver and 23 bronze medals.

With a hundred medals, Hungary became the most successful European nation, surpassing the delegations of more populous countries such as Germany or Great Britain.

Berlin 2015:

At the 2015 European Maccabi Games, Hungary achieved 8th place in the national list with 19 medals won – 7 gold, 8 silver and 4 bronze.
